You can also reserve a standard site with 30-amp electric services. Both options include picnic tables and fire pits.

Hide Away Campgrounds

Look no further than Hide Away Campgrounds for an overnight stay deep into the woods. The full hookup sites come with 50-amp services, water, and sewer hookups. The fees change depending on the length of your stay. You can also stay at South Park, though electric heaters are not allowed. 

Camp Dearborn 

As a 626-acre recreational retreat, Camp Dearborn can accommodate every type of camper. If you have an RV, you can select a full hookup or electric-only site. Both options include a fire ring, a picnic table, and park admission for two cars. Alternatively, you can rent cabins or cottages. You can even pitch a tent along the Huron River. 

The Best Time To Visit Maybury State Park

Michigan experiences a continental climate. Winters are known for freezing temperatures, while summers bring high humidity rates. Here is what you can expect at Maybury State Park each season:

Winter

If you’re in the mood for a white Christmas, then you’re in luck! Michigan is known for its snow-covered climate. Northville Township receives an average of 12.8 inches of snow in January. The average high during that month reaches a mere 31 degrees Fahrenheit with nighttime temperatures dropping to 16 degrees. Enjoy some cross-country skiing on the trails if you’re willing to withstand these frigid conditions. 

Spring

April brings relatively stable temperatures to Maybury Park. You can expect an average high of about 58 degrees Fahrenheit. That said, average lows can dip to 35 degrees, making the spring season feel like late winter. That said, snow is non-existent during this period. Rainfall is also rare around this time.  

Summer

Michigan receives several visitors during the summer, and for good reason too. The climate in Northville Township is comfortable, and precipitation is rare. You can expect average highs between the high 70s and the low 80s. Average night lows dip to the high 50s. While humidity is at its highest during this period, conditions remain comfortable. 

Fall

The autumn season remains relatively warm at first. Temperatures in September can reach as high as 73 degrees Fahrenheit, with overnight lows dropping to only 50 degrees. The one downside is that September receives the most rain throughout the year, with an average of 3.5 inches. However, Northville remains drier than most places in Michigan.

  • Cross-country skiing: During the winter, park officials groom and track portions of the trails in the park for cross-country skiing. Some parts of the trails may be suitable for snowshoeing too. 
  • Horseback riding: In Maybury State Park, horseback riding is a popular pastime. The park features eight miles of looped trails that take riders through rolling terrain and open meadows. 
  • Mountain Biking: Mountain bikers have a couple of options when it comes to trail riding. The first is a 6.3-mile trail that goes through what was once the site of the Maybury Sanatorium. There is also a single-track trail that includes steep climbs.
